Seasons at DCL

• Season: November 16, 2010 until November 15, 2011
• Closed: Octuber
• Peak Dates: December 20th until January 2nd and Easter Week.  During these times we charge an additional 20% on our lodging and meals.

Reservations

• Every reservation must be requested in writing (e-mail is the best option).
• Confirmation of availability is sent upon receiving the request for the space but that does not guarantee the reservation unless a prepayment is received.
• To guarantee a reservation we need to receive a 50% deposit for the total reservation. This can be paid by sending a deposit to the “Cuenta de Ahorros” at

También podemos confirmar su reservación con la información del numero de  su tarjeta de crédito (Visa, Mastercard o Servibanca), la fecha que expira y una copia de su pasaporte. Si esta es su elección por favor mande la información fragmentada en 2 o 3 correos electrónicos.

 

• Danta Corcovado Lodge uses the exchange rate permitted in Costa Rica, charging the amount shown in your invoice and does not accept responsibilities for any extra fees charged to your credit card by the banks when processed.
• Travel Agencies must do the final payment 15 days before the guest’s arrival.
• Personal reservations can be paid in full at check-in.
• Flights or ground transfer reservations made by Danta Corcovado Lodge must be paid in full once they have been arranged. If the payment for these services is made with a credit card, an additional 3.5% bank charge will be added to your payment.

Cancellations and Refunds

• Cancellations must be made in writing or fax.  We do not accept cancellations made by telephone.
• Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% reimbursement
• Cancellations made 15-29 days prior are subject to a 75% reimbursement
• Cancellations made 8-14 days prior are subject to a 50% reimbursement
• Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to check-in date will not receive a reimbursement.
• Please be aware that in the case of receiving a cancellation guaranteed with a credit card, you will be charged a 3.5% bank charge on the total amount you authorized.
• Refunds in Costa Rica will be made by making a deposit by Internet to your bank account
• Refunds outside Costa Rica will be made via Pay Pal (www.paypal.com)

Lodging

• Accommodations at Danta Corcovado Lodge consist of:

4 Bungalows:   one room with a queen size bed private large semi-garden bathroom private porch (These are great bungalows for couples. Couches are also twin beds) 2 Bungalows:   one room with queen size bed and 2 bunk beds private large semi-garden bathroom private porch Please note that bungalows are located in our secondary forest, 250 meters from main lodge. 2 Rooms in Main Lodge:   Suite with queen size bed private large bathroom (handicap friendly) couch turns into twin bed

• We do not accommodate more people than the room’s bed capacity- this avoids unhappy guests. We only make an exception when guests are staying in a Bungalow or Lodge room with children and wish to be with them in the same room.  If this is the case, we will put an extra cot on the floor. 
• The Suite in Main Lodge is available for guests with disabilities.
• The main lodge and bungalows at Danta Corcovado Lodge have flashlights, umbrellas, candles, lighters, towels, and soap.

Children, Guides, and Chauffeurs

• Children two to 10 years old are charged half price when staying in the same room as their parents.
• Children under 2 years old stay without charge unless they require some special services.
• All children are welcome to Danta Corcovado Lodge; however we suggest their parents keep an eye on their behavior. Every guest at Danta Corcovado Lodge is a VIP and everyone has the right to enjoy the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this paradisiacal place.
• Danta Corcovado Lodge has some very knowledgeable guides in its staff.  They are bilingual, very experienced with the area, and trained in first aid. There is always priority for Danta Lodge’s guides, but if a guest wants to bring their own guide, he or she can sleep in the main lodge and will be charged a Tico rate. The same policy also applies to chauffeurs that guests wish to keep with them.  

Transportation

• Danta Corcovado Lodge offers assistance contacting a private taxi for transportation from Puerto Jiménez to Danta Lodge. The cost of the transportation can be paid at our hotel. If a guest gets a taxi that is not the one we have previously arranged for them, they will be obligated to pay for that taxi as well as the taxi they requested us to arrange for them.
• Danta Corcovado Lodge can help guests arrange transportation to and from Corcovado National Park. However, this should be paid upon making the reservation. If a guest does not show up there will be no reimbursement.

Food, Bar, and Meal Times

• Danta Corcovado Lodge serves typical Costa Rican meals that consist of a variety of vegetarian food along with a main entree consisting of fresh fish, poultry, or beef.  Our local cooks plan each meal with care to share with each guest a taste of their traditional dishes. Menu might vary depending on what is in season and available locally.
• Please let us know ahead of time if you have any dietary restrictions.
• Meal times:

BREAKFAST: 6:00am – 8:00 am LUNCH: 11:30pm - 1:30pm DINNER: 7:00pm

• Meals are served to the tables when there are 16 or less guests and served buffet-style when there are more than 16 guests.
• For organized retreats, breakfast can be according to their itinerary.
• There is always complimentary coffee and tea available in the dining room.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

• Due to the remote location of Danta Corcovado Lodge, check-in can be done at any time between 7:00am and 10:00pm. However, if a person is looking for rooms after 10:00pm, the guard will be authorized to accommodate them, if there is availability. They must provide him a credit card (Visa or Master card) that will be retained until the next day.   
• Check-out can also be done anytime from 7:00am to 10:00pm, but the room must be vacated by 11:00am if there are new guests arriving for that room or by 2:00pm if there are no guests arriving for that room.  If a guest wishes to leave late in the afternoon, we can keep their luggage in our office.
• We at Danta Corcovado Lodge do our best to keep track of our guests even after they have left our hotel and we do our best to make their trip back as smooth as possible.  Sometimes, however, all of our efforts are not enough when situations related to the weather or with other companies occur.  If that is the case, we can only offer all of our communication resources and hope for the best.
